After dreaming of this destination for years, I arrived in Thailand. The land of freedom and total disinhibition, of cities that never sleep, of beaches with crystal clear waters and blue lagoons. And as if that weren’t enough, I found out that it is also a paradise for shopping at low and very low prices! Nothing could be truer.
To enjoy such a vacation, when you arrive in Thailand, you absolutely must know what to expect; someone must warn you about what you are about to experience, and you must be informed. If this does not happen, you may be shocked by what you find there. Sometimes shocked in a very pleasant way, or less pleasantly, sometimes you will realize that you are too modest, other times you will be excited without limits.
I visited a lot of Thailand, being a package made for tourism professionals, but also for journalists, it covered a large part of everything tourist in this country. I was in Bangkok, Pattaya, and the islands of Phuket, Samui, Krabi, Lanta, and Phang Nga Bay.
Pattaya is on the mainland and is the first city closest to Bangkok, where you can find the nightlife you’ve heard of. Full of all kinds of clubs for crazy nights spent among colorful cocktails and easy women, bazaars open all night, Thai massage parlors (but not only) that work non-stop and at more than reasonable prices, women for all tastes and budgets on every street corner, but (!!) and local shops, or real malls, open until almost dawn. If you don’t want to fly to the islands, you can also go to the beach here, and Pattaya can be the perfect place to “taste” Thailand, but also to fill your suitcases with nice things at good prices.
Phuket, on the other hand, is by far the local Las Vegas. Things happen there at maximum intensity and with a much higher concentration per square meter of everything I described above. That is, if you don’t mind the noise and you want to see what fun means to Asians. During the evening, music of various genres is blaring in the center from all the bars, so a few minutes’ walk on the main street will get you up to date with all the genres on the charts at that moment. On the other hand, the city is flooded with light, crowded, and very colorful. Looking around, the atmosphere seems quite unsafe, but in reality, it really isn’t. Surprisingly, no one bothers you, no one “sees” you or approaches you, unless you want to “seem available”.
And the beaches are incredible and seem like they’re straight out of paradise.
The further you get from the mainland, the quieter it gets. In Samui, for example, the madness disappears in places; here, everything is much more “polite”. You find superb beaches, hotels, and services that you rarely find elsewhere is true everywhere. Their native servility makes Thailand unbeatable when it comes to quality service. You can’t find fault, no matter how hard you try, or how demanding you are. Plus, everything is very cheap!!!
Buddha temples are everywhere in Samui and are recommended for visiting. You can also go to “Mother and Father Rock”, where, in a rocky landscape, in the land of debauchery, even nature has left two genitals made of stone, which the Thais swear they have not touched to “process” them in any way. Interesting to see. You can also go on elephant rides – the so-called “elephant tracking” – through the mountains and among waterfalls, or extraordinary cruises, canoe rides, or visits to caves and blue lagoons like you have only seen in movies.
If you don’t like the noise or atmosphere I described in Phuket, then Samui will be much more suitable for what you are looking for. Relaxation and delight will be guaranteed!
But if you are looking for complete peace, so complete that you can hardly even buy cigarettes, then I recommend Krabi, or even better, Koh Lanta. In Lanta, at least, it is just you, the hotel you are staying in, and the blue sea. The music of the waves is the only thing you will hear.
Transfers between islands cost next to nothing, so if you have time, you can visit them all.
They say that Thailand is a man’s paradise, which I do not deny at all. That’s right. Men are really happy there. The women are not necessarily beautiful, or even without special features, but you will never see them together or holding hands with locals, but with any other person of any other nationality. They have a method undiscovered by us,” others”, for which men travel tens of thousands of kilometers to experience it. And this is a real performance of the Ladies, which we really cannot deny!
The most beautiful, but truly beautiful, I saw them in Pattaya, in a show like Moulin Rouge, which was famous because the show was made up only of former men. The way they had transformed themselves was an art in the true sense of the word and worth admiring.
And after you have seen what there was to see, you have cultured yourself, but above all, you have tanned enough. It is good to keep 2 or even 3 days in Bangkok, especially for the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, but equally for shopping. In Thailand, you come without luggage, but with as many empty bags as possible. The maximum limit allowed by the airlines should be used exclusively for shopping in Bangkok.
With a population of 10 million and infernal traffic, the capital is the perfect place to empty your cards. Prices are not touristy, and you can find everything from local brands in huge malls to big and well-known brands, which you pay less for than anywhere else anyway.
If you’re not looking for a well-known brand or anything in particular, I recommend cosmetic products, especially the local ones produced by them. They are very natural and extraordinarily effective!
Thailand is the paradise lost somewhere between day and night, lost between the gorgeous beaches that make you an incurable romantic without you even realizing it and the evening “show” displayed all around you, it is the place torn from heaven where the tourist is a true king and is treated as such, everything is subjugated to him and created in his honor.
It is the place where the atmosphere sickly impregnates the minds of certain men, but also the place where women find their total happiness, only if they have the card in their possession.
